Effortless Swimming Goggles: Are They Really the Best Anti-Fog Goggles?

Effortless Swimming Goggles: Are They Really the Best Anti-Fog Goggles?

Recently, I got the chance to try some pretty interesting goggles from Effortless Swimming. They have a very interesting design, and most importantly, they position themselves as having the best anti-fog goggles on the market. I had the opportunity to test two different models: the Flex Swim and the Viper.

So, let's see whether they are actually as good as they claim, or if it's just marketing.

Let's find out.

Flex Swim

The Flex Swim model is quite large, but very comfortable. They are suitable for both sea and pool swimming, especially for those who value comfort above minimalism.

They fit the head very well, and during group swimming sessions in triathlon or open-water competitions, it would be almost impossible for someone to knock them off your face. This is a very important detail, because losing your orientation because your goggles have been knocked out of position, or because they have filled with water, will force you to stop and lose valuable time.

With the Flex goggles, you won't have to stop, because they simply won't get knocked off, and you can keep your eyes protected all the way to the end of your swim.

Viper

The Viper model is a little more interesting in terms of appearance. It has an interchangeable nose bridge and looks stylish. Although they are slightly larger than other goggles in a similar segment, they sit extremely well on the head.

For me, this is quite a sensitive issue because my nose has a rather unusual shape due to a previous fracture. Many goggles from well-known brands, including top models from Speedo or Arena, simply don't fit the shape of my eyes and nose bridge. Because of this, I wasn't able to use them comfortably, so this is a particularly important point for me.

With the Viper, I don't have this problem. They come with four different interchangeable nose bridges to accommodate different nose widths, and they sit very securely and comfortably. They are suitable not only for pool swimming but also for open-water swimming, because they stay on your head just as securely as the Flex.

Comfort and protection

Overall, if we compare these goggles with standard goggles from Decathlon, such as the Bfit or Bfast, you don't need to tighten the strap nearly as much to keep the goggles securely in place. This also means you avoid having strong marks around your eyes.

On top of that, the UV400 protection makes them suitable for use in sunny conditions.

The anti-fog coating

However, the biggest strength of the Effortless Swimming goggles is their coating. With most goggles, even after wetting them before a training session, you soon have to stop and wipe the lenses because they have started fogging up again.

With Effortless Swimming, this simply doesn't happen. Throughout the entire training session, I was able to forget about the discomfort of not being able to see properly through my goggles.

And for open-water competitions or long-distance events, this is extremely important.

My verdict

Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience using Effortless Swimming goggles, and I definitely recommend giving them a try.

I'm sure you'll be satisfied with them, and I'm confident that your swimming experience will be just as great as mine.
